We:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1790\">\n<li data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1405\">\n<p data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1405\">Host an annual session (often with a strong dose of storytelling and subtle wisdom) at the RSS Annual Meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1406\" data-end=\"1530\">\n<p data-start=\"1408\" data-end=\"1530\">Provide gentle and not-so-gentle reminders that rural sociologists, like fine cheese and old tractors, improve with age.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1705\">\n<p data-start=\"1533\" data-end=\"1705\">Offer informal mentorship and conversation to younger scholars\u2014when we&#8217;re not too busy exchanging stories, planning the next adventure, or misplacing our reading glasses.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1706\" data-end=\"1790\">\n<p data-start=\"1708\" data-end=\"1790\">Serve as living archives and sometimes mischievous sages within the RSS community.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1792\" data-end=\"2082\">To get involved, self-identify as an Elder (chronologically, spiritually, or aspirationally) and attend our business meeting and sessions at the RSS Annual Meeting.
